Sumpin South Seas just to make you wanna go visit...

By Noon I'm Outta Gas!

Here it is ten days since I departed Paradise, and I'm still spinning my wheels. I have been thinking (?) about the things I should be posting on, and trying to figure out why this writing thing is such a difficult thing...

The weather here has been superb, but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. Fux Nooze blares constantly from the living room... Sis is hung out to dry with it, and if I make a move to change the channel, I am chastised severely... She hangs out here a lot, as she seems to feel need for family interaction, not sympathy, in her illness. I have come to the conclusion that she wants to be sure that we all know that she is a Bushite through and through, and if this illness takes her down, she wants to be remembered as such... Personally I would rather be tagged with a tag of child molester rather than a "rightie", but that is my "opinion".

I wanted to write about my Tahitian Family, and I think this is about the best time to do it... It is early in the morning this 4th of July and being that I have gone "native" (in more ways than I care to think about), family values come to the fore more than patriotism, god, flag, or country.

Five years ago, I took a beach volley ball equipment bag home as I knew that every one there loves volley ball almost as much as Fishin, Drinkin, and Sex.... My son in law immediately set it up in the vacant lot next to the house and started a neighborhood game... This game, metasticized itself into a team that became a two time champion of the island of Raiatea, a two time runner up of the same and a two time runner up in the Isle Sous le Vent inter island tournament.. This was done with absolutely no financial or physical help from outside my immediate family.. My contribution was medical supplies in the pain relief catagory, linements, Ace Bandages, Aleve, Volleyballs, cartons of inflating needles (scarecer than hen's teeth), and a whole lot of pride.

While I was home Vaihi Team was playing for it's 3rd Raiatean Championship but lost to the Opoa Team in the 5th and deciding match... Win, lose or draw, I was so very proud of my Family for taking this team so far with so little other than a dogged determination to show that there was still a lot to be proud of in the districts, that receive little or no recognition..

Just before I left there Yannick, my son in law went before the sports comission and resigned his seat and turned the responsibility of Vaihi Team over to them. It is now their responsibility to keep the team together, find a new manager, coach, and practice area.. I doubt very much that anything will come of it, as all the other teams are sponsored commercially and until Vaihi Team made it's debut, they controlled everything. Five years of twenty four hours a day responsibility finally took it's toll on the family, but of one of the many things I have to be proud of is the dogged determination of my son in law and my daughter... I love you all, and am so very proud of what you did, and what you will do in the future.. You made a silk purse from a sow's ear, and in doing so, gave a lot of self confidence and pride to a group of kids who otherwise might have drifter aimlessly through life.. You managed to instill pride, discipline, and hope in a bunch of young people who had none of these earlier...

Yes, I also have that pride of belonging.. Pride in your winning and most of all Pride in what you and all those you have touched have done... May you have fair winds and following seas in this voyage through life.. May the warm sun shine on your visages, and contentment be with you as long as you are to live..

July 2, 2006 -- Conservative scribe Ann Coulter cribbed liberally in her latest book, "Godless," according to a plagiarism expert.

John Barrie, the creator of a leading plagiarism-recognition system, claimed he found at least three instances of what he calls "textbook plagiarism" in the leggy blond pundit's "Godless: the Church of Liberalism" after he ran the book's text through the company's digital iThenticate program.
